Jordan – Turkey Free Trade Agreement

Jordan and Turkey signed an agreement to establish a free trade zone between both countries on December 2, 2009. The agreement is anticipated to come into force by 2011, thereby initiating a gradual reduction on tariffs for traded goods.  The ultimate goal of this agreement is to fully eliminate customs duties after 12 years. The free trade agreement will boost economic cooperation between Jordan and Turkey in areas of trade, investment, transportation and travel logistics.
